Dear Parents and Carers
I hope very much that you have had a peaceful and healthy Christmas holiday and on behalf of everyone at school we wish you all a very very happy new year that is so different and so much better than 2020 has been at times. This has been a year that we will remember and one that we might like to forget.
Despite this, without question there have been some positives: I am so grateful to you, our families who have been patient and supportive throughout the pandemic, to my colleagues who have worked so hard and flexibly at what has been quite an uncertain and stressful time and of course to our children who have shown resilience, made us smile and ultimately reminded us of why we do this job!
I had hoped that we would be able to open to children on 5th January but, unfortunately, a number of positive COVID cases in our school and wider community were identified over the holiday period and, as a result, we do not have the capacity to open safely.
As an alternative plan we will hold training days on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th January (Monday was already an INSET day) and provide remote learning from Wednesday 6th - Friday 8th January 2021. The Tuesday INSET day will replace one that we had planned for later in the year.
This is by no means the start of the year that we expected or wanted but I hope at least this arrangement will allow valuable time for recuperation and opportunities to plan for the following weeks. I really appreciate your quick responses to the recent survey I sent out and your views will be factored in to any decisions we make.
We will be in touch shortly to confirm arrangements for next week.
We look forward to working with you in the coming term
